Years passed, and their children met and fell in love heightening the fracas between both men. That led to a fierce rivalry between both parties with revenge an important motivation for many of the major actions that took place in the novel.

They both became leaders in their respective areas of endeavour.Īlong the line they had a clash where Abel felt seriously hurt by Kane and swore to bring him down. Richard also became an accomplished banker, owning a very successful bank. As the story progressed, it was revealed that Abel’s biological father turned out to be a rich Polish baron who lived in an affluent castle.Īfter several horrible experiences, Abel was able to escape poverty and went on to become the owner of one of the largest and most successful hotels in the world. Richard affluent life led him to the best of schools, the best exposures and a supportive family while Abel on the other hand moved from being born into a family of about 7 children who lived under underwhelming conditions to imprisonment in Russian camps. Richard was the more fortunate of the two being born to one of America’s wealthiest banking families while Abel was found in the forest during one of his foster father’s sons’ hunting expenditure lying naked and helpless beside his dead mother. Kane and Abel is a great book about two guys Abel Wladek Rosnovski and Richard Kane who were both born on the same day in different parts of the world. I went through his books and purchased Kane and Abel with the hope of starting it immediately after Stephen King’s Herart In Atlantis which I was reading then. I had heard so many people talk about him and on this very day during the NYSC orientation camp in Iseyin, I found this book at one of the many book vendors who displayed their wares at the camp market. Jeffery Archer is one of the authors that comes up during discussions with reading enthusiasts.
